What counts as a dental emergency?

If you are not sure, call us and we will talk it through.

  • Severe toothache

Pain that stops you sleeping or eating, or that painkillers do not settle.

  • Broken or chipped tooth

Especially if it is sharp, painful or sensitive to hot and cold.

  • Knocked-out tooth

Hold it by the crown, keep it in milk and call us straight away. Time matters.

  • Swelling or abscess

A swollen face or gum, or a painful spot on the gum, can be a sign of infection.

  • Lost crown or filling

Keep the crown if you can, and avoid chewing on that side until you are seen.

  • Bleeding after treatment

Press on a clean gauze for 20 minutes. Call us if the bleeding continues.
